For my collage, I wanted to choose photos that best represented myself, since my topic is “About Me”. I also stated in my introduction post that my content would include some information about my journey to becoming a filmmaker. My first photo, which is taking up the left hand space of the collage, is a photo of me and my dog, Entei. I wanted to include a photo of myself in the collage, since my topic is “About Me”. I mentioned my dogs in my introduction post, and they are a huge part of my life, so I thought that a photo of me cuddling with one of them would work perfectly. My second photo, which is taking up the right hand space of the collage, is a photo I took as a behind-the-scenes photo during production of a short film that I wrote, produced and directed. The photo shows the camera angled at the actors during a nice looking shot, which is capturing an important, emotional scene of the film. I thought it worked perfectly to portray my career interest and talking point of my topic. My third photo, which is taking up the bottom of the space of the collage, is a photo I took of my three favorite movies all side by side. Since I’m a very big movie fan, and movies are my career goal, I thought it fit perfectly with the other photos. The subjects of the movies capture some of my major interests as well. King Kong (2005) includes my favorite animal, the gorilla. Rise of the Planet of the Apes includes not only gorillas, but some of my other well liked animals, chimpanzees and orangutans. Avengers: Infinity War includes superheroes, which I’ve always loved from comic books to movies. In addition, my passion project for if I ever break into the filmmaking business is a superhero film based on characters and a universe that I have created myself. I created my collage by positioning the first and second photo at the full height of the frame and slightly overlapping each other. I merged the overlapping edges together with a layer mask. I then positioned the third photo at the bottom at about a third of the height of the frame. I lowered its opacity to blend with the other two photos so that they are still visible but not taking away from the others.
